Report of Our Last Family Tarbiah & Recreational Trip

All praise and thanks are due to Allah Almighty, whose mercy and blessings enabled us to organise and successfully complete another memorable family Tarbiah and recreational trip. The three-day journey brought together families, children, young people and elders in an atmosphere of faith, learning, friendship and togetherness.
The purpose of the trip was not simply to travel and enjoy beautiful surroundings. Rather, it was an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Allah, encourage Islamic learning, develop brotherhood and sisterhood, and provide families with quality time together away from the routines and pressures of everyday life.
The journey began with everyone gathering at the meeting point before travelling together towards our destination. The excitement among the children and families was evident from the beginning. Travelling together provided an opportunity for participants to meet one another, strengthen existing friendships and develop new relationships within the community.
Upon arrival, everyone settled into the accommodation and arrangements were made for rooms and meals. The evening was spent together, followed by congregational Isha prayer. From the very beginning, there was a strong sense of cooperation and responsibility, with participants willingly helping one another with food, accommodation and other practical arrangements.
The following morning began before dawn with Tahajjud prayer. This was followed by Fajr prayer in congregation, creating a peaceful and spiritually uplifting start to the day. While some participants helped prepare breakfast, others spent time with their families and children before gathering together for the day’s programme.
One of the most important aspects of the trip was the educational programme. Qur’an recitation and Islamic reminders were followed by talks focusing on our relationship with Allah, Tawheed and the responsibilities of a Muslim. Participants were reminded that true success lies in recognising Allah as our Creator, trusting Him, being grateful for His blessings and turning to Him in every situation.
The speakers also reminded us that difficulties and unanswered prayers should never cause us to lose hope. A believer continues to make du’a, remains patient and places complete trust in Allah, knowing that Allah’s wisdom is greater than our own understanding.
Alongside the educational sessions, participants enjoyed various recreational activities. Families explored beautiful natural surroundings, visited places of interest and spent valuable time together. The children particularly enjoyed outdoor activities and games, while adults had opportunities to relax, talk and build stronger relationships with other members of the community.
The recreational element of the trip was an important part of the experience. Islam encourages us to maintain a healthy balance between our spiritual responsibilities and permissible enjoyment. Family activities can create lasting memories and help children associate their community and Islamic environment with happiness, friendship and belonging.
Meals were another special part of the journey. Participants worked together to prepare breakfasts, lunches and dinners, with different families contributing in their own ways. The simple act of preparing and sharing food became an opportunity for cooperation, generosity and conversation.
Throughout the trip, participants were encouraged to maintain congregational prayers and take part in the Islamic programme. Qur’an, Hadith, Seerah and reminders from the lives of the Companions provided opportunities for everyone to reflect upon their own lives and consider how they could improve their relationship with Allah.
The children also benefited greatly from spending time in the company of other Muslim families. They were able to play together, make friends and experience the importance of community. Such experiences can have a lasting impact on young people, helping them develop a positive connection with their faith and fellow Muslims.
As the trip came to an end, everyone worked together to clean the accommodation and leave it in excellent condition. This was another valuable reminder that Islamic character is demonstrated not only through worship but also through responsibility, cleanliness, consideration and respect for others.
The final day concluded with further sightseeing and a shared meal before everyone began the journey home. Although the physical journey had come to an end, many participants returned with renewed faith, strengthened friendships and cherished memories.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making the trip successful. Special appreciation goes to those who planned the programme, arranged transportation and accommodation, prepared meals, delivered the educational sessions and supported families throughout the journey.
May Allah accept everyone’s efforts, reward every person who contributed, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood within our community, and enable us to continue organising beneficial programmes for families and young people.
Most importantly, may Allah make these gatherings a means of increasing our love for Him, strengthening our faith and helping us live our lives according to the guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Ameen.
